Kat Got The Cream
The other weekend, we took a little staycation in the beautiful North Yorkshire market town of Richmond. It’s under an hour’s drive from us but for some reason we’ve never made it before. We had been invited to try out a wonderfully cosy cottage and now that autumn is well and truly upon us, it was the perfect (re)treat for us and the kids.
We stayed in Evergreen Cottage, which has a great view of Richmond castle and is only a short walk from the river and the nearby town centre. While we did get our walking shoes on a bit, I have to say we also did a lot of hunkering down in that cottage as it was so well appointed and comfortable. Think luxury hotel standards but on a smaller scale, in a traditional stone built place all to yourselves and that pretty much sums it up. We even had a personal welcome by the owners and a complimentary basket of goodies (wine, bread, biscuits, sweets) plus milk, cheese and butter in the fridge!
